A few things I watched/read:

Star Trek: The Next Generation: I often rewatch when I’m deeply depressed. Maybe I just need to believe in a collaborative world where differences are respected or maybe I just think Data and Guinan are cool.

Paprika: Another Satoshi Kon banger. This time, the aspect of this film that imagines digital media as a creepy parade of toys that takes over people’s personalties really resonated.

Sad Tiger, Neige Sinno: I feel like everything coming out of Seven Stories Press is on point, but this one…this one is for the Annie Ernaux heads who want to go deep into the dead heart of a patriarchal, abusive man.

The Weight, Melissa Mendes: This is one of my favorite graphic novels I’ve read this year. There’s no narration. We’re fully immersed in a story about a kid in rural America set sometime in the past. Horrible things happen in what feels like silence.
